Submission overview
Abstract
The present work proposes a novel analytical method for calculating the dynamic response of multi-span bridges subjected to moving loads. The proposed approach uses time-discrete analysis based on sinc interpolation, which is derived from the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem. This approach allows analytical precision of dynamic responses with minimal computational effort. The work provides closed-form explicit formulae for bridge response, thus offering significant advantages over conventional numerical approaches. These advantages include reduced complexity and computational cost without compromising on accuracy. The methodology is implemented in open-source Julia code available on GitHub.
