Submission overview
Abstract
The increasing demand for fast, accurate, and non-intrusive structural health monitoring has driven the development of advanced remote-sensing methodologies over the last decades. This contribution presents an integrated interferometric approach that leverages high-resolution sensing and geospatial technologies to measure structural displacements and vibration parameters across multiple points from remote locations. The solution's versatility enables both static and dynamic assessments, supporting short-term or continuous monitoring at high sampling rates and wide-area coverage without the installation of physical sensors. Initial laboratory tests and selected field deployments demonstrate that the proposed approach can extract modal parameters and identify natural frequencies under ambient excitation. Comparisons with conventional point-based instrumentation show comparable accuracy while offering significant advantages in deployment time, operability, and spatial completeness. The solution demonstrates strong potential for rapid diagnostics, temporary monitoring campaigns, and scenarios where accessibility is limited. These results emphasize the role of integrated remote-sensing techniques in enabling informed decision-making for infrastructure management, while contributing to cost-efficient and safe monitoring strategies.
