Abstract
This paper presents the setup definition and the implementation of a structural health monitoring (SHM) system in Kuñotambo church, which corresponds to a 17th century retrofitted abobe church, located in the Peruvian Andes. The SHM system, implemented in May 2022, is composed of several sensors and an acquisition system, which allows the recording of accelerations and the base and top of the structure, out-of-plane rotations, crack widths and environmental data (temperature and relative humidity). The accelerometers installed at the top of the walls of the buildings allow to estimate, continuously, the frequencies over time and, consequently, evaluate the damage as function of the modal parameters variation. Moreover, a weather station was also installed, allowing the monitoring of additional environmental parameters, namely the wind speed and direction, solar radiation, barometric pressure and rainfall. Finally, this paper presents the data processing for the first years of monitoring and the main conclusions obtained from the SHM system.
